What are bagels?
Bagels originated in the Jewish communities of Poland. Bagels are traditionally shaped by hand into the form of a ring using yeasted dough. Roughly hand-sized, boiled and then baked, the result should be a dense, chewy, almost doughy interior with a browned and sometimes crisp exterior.
How do I store bagels?
Bagels can be eaten freshly baked, or will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Unlike most yeast-based products, bagels can be frozen in an airtight container or freezer bag and still retain their flavour and feel once thawed. For ease of use, consider slicing bagels before freezing. Thawing is best done at room temperature in an airtight container
